I have been dedicated to the field of speech-language pathology ever since I can remember. As a young middle school student, I began working at a special needs summer camp, little did I know, a seemingly simple summer job would be the beginning of a life long commitment. I stayed at that camp for five summers, each year, learning a great deal about a variety of disabilities and speech-language disorders. Watching my positive campers overcome everyday challenges, I began to realize how I could not leave the work of helping others behind.  Over the years, my decision to become a speech-language pathologist has developed into a passion. Being a part of enhancing another’s communication skills is truly a rewarding experience, and I cannot imagine a different field. I believe effective communication is a gift that every individual must have!
